Step 1
Remove the existing toilet seat and hinge assembly. Thoroughly clean the top portion of the toilet bowl and allow it to dry.
Step 2
Disassemble the toilet seat hinge system by inserting a flat head screw driver into the slot between pin and segment and twisting slightly to release them. Now you will have the toilet seat cover and housing.
Step 3
Separate the housing into two parts, bottom and top by using a flat head screw driver.
Step 4
Assemble the fan with the intake adapter and exhaust adapter by hand pushing in firmly.
Step 5
Reassemble the bottom portion of the housing with the toilet seat using the pins.
Step 6
Apply a small amount of silicone on the bottom of the housing as pictured.
Step 7
Put the toilet seat assembly onto the toilet, making sure to align with the mounting holes and toilet seat. Insert the provided hollow bolt into the right mounting hole and tighten it to the fan assembly. Insert the regular bolt into the left side and tighten both using the provided nuts.
Step 8
Push connector with wire from housing in to hollow bolt. Connect wire from housing with wire from fan by inserting male connector into the female connector. After connecting, push the wire with connectors inside the hole and install the cap in to the hole. Connect the power supply to the fan using the connectors. Push the connectors and wires into the small hole from fan and cover the hole with small cap located on the wire. Connect plastic strap to the water tank with the provided nut and to the filter assembly using the hose clamp. Make sure the strap is taught and the filter assembly is horizontal. Locate an appropriate outlet and plug the power supply in. Instruction are the same for downward facing intake adaptor.
Step 9
There is 16 feet of wire provided so that you can position and conceal it however appropriate for your situation. You can place excess wire wherever convenient such as neatly in the tank and tighten with two plastic strap provided.
Step 10
Disassemble toilet seat from the bottom part of housing and place silicone between the top toilet rim and the housing.
Step 11
Line up toilet seat with the hinge assembly and toilet. Pull out the pins and install the housing top part, Install the toilet seat and the cover, secure the system with the pins. Use the provided cap to hide the wires inside the tube. Allow 30 minutes to 1 hour for the silicone to cure before using the toilet. Install the filter.
Alternative installation method
Instead of using the activated carbon air filter, you may instead route the odor to the outside using half inch pipes. This can be done through the wall or through the floor if the room is on a raised foundation. Be sure to correctly measure the location of the exit pipe so that it aligns closely with the position of the fan assembly.
